
Tata Motors have launched the Indigo Manza saloon here today. Based on the J300 platform that also houses the shell of the Indica Vista, the Indigo Manza is now larger and wider than the outgoing Indigo. Yes, you read that right, the regular Indigo will go out of production, with only the CS, Marina and XL variants to be offered going forward.
The petrol powered Manza sports a 1.4-litre, 89bhp SAFIRE engine and the diesel has the now familiar, 1.3-litre 89bhp Quadrajet engine, both picked from the Fiat stable. Tata says, that the Indigo Manza is the eighth new-generation car launched by the Tata-Fiat collaboration
Tata had launched its Indigo on 18th December 2002 and the new Indigo Manza is based on the platform of the Indica Vista which was launched last year. ARAI claims the diesel 21.02km/l and the petrol returns an economy of 14.5km/l. The top variant of the Manza, the Aura+ comes with ABS and dual airbags, not to mention such goodies as a Bluetooth compatible in-dash audio system, climate control, trip computer and alloy wheels.
What Tata have done with the Manza is price it extremely competitvely. Starting at Rs 4.8 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, the Indigo Manza undercuts nearly all its rivals – including the Ford Ikon, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, the Renault Logan and Hyundai Accent.
Two new engines are being offered – new to the Indigo, but would be familiar since they also power the Fiat Linea. The 1.4 multi-point, fuel injected Safire petrol produces around 88.5 bhp@6000 rpm and around 116 Nm of peak torque at 4750 rpm. The 1.4 Quadrajet 90 on the other hand produces similar power at 4000 rpm , yet produces nearly 20.4 kgm of torque at 1750-3000 rpm. Both engines can haul this nearly 1.2-tonne car to a top speed in excess of 160 kph, as we found on our testing equipment.
Maruti SX4 is extremly powerful in delivering a displacement of 1586cc. With a power out-put of 102hp and with a torque of 145Nm Maruti SX4 is belived to be man among the list of cars. Maruti SX4 possess four cylinders with 16 valves with a piston displacement of 1586cc. The car is capable of delivering a maximum power output of 102 bhp at the rate of 5500rpm. Considering the chassis of the car we have a EPS type steering and brakes of ventilated disc in the front and drum type at the back. With a sitting capacity of five people along with a 50 litres fuel tank capacity this car is highly capacitive.

BMW Z4 Review:
German luxury car maker BMW today launched its sports-car Z4 Roadster priced at Rs 59 lakh (ex-showroom).
The two-seater sports-car powered by a 2,979 cc petrol engine is being launched as a part of the company’s move to strengthen its position in the Indian luxury car segment.
BMW Z4 Description:
The sDrive35i is the 2009 Z4’s top-of-the-line variant, featuring BMW’s new dual-clutch 7-speed automatic gearbox. The three-litre twin-turbo inline-six engine makes a stonking 306PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. In cue with Beemer’s sporty traditions, the new car also has Dynamic Drive control that let’s the user choose between Normal, Sport and Sport + modes.
BMW already has its 6-series convertible on sale in India, and even though the Z4 shares its top-down traits with the 6, that is where the similarities end. The Z4 forms a completely different class of cars, smaller in size, a true two-seater in roadster fashion, but with great power and very manageable dimensions for nimble and agile handling. The 2009 model also has a major improvement over its predecessor – the car now comes with a foldable hard-top roof, and hence replaces both the coupe and cabriolet versions of the earlier model.

Chevrolet Cruze Review:
General Motors India’s D-segment sedan, Chevrolet Cruze was lauched today in New Delhi. Available in two variants – LT & LTZ , and in six colours, the sedan is equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel engine (the same engine which is also fitted to the Chevrolet Captiva SUV) and produces 149 horsepower and 327Nm of torque. According to ARAI figures, the Cruze’s 2.0-litre diesel engine delivers 18.3km/l in terms of fuel economy,and will be pitted against Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda Civic, and VW Jetta.
GMI is offering a 3-year/100,000km warranty and plans to launch a 1.8-litre petrol-engined version of the car by mid-2010. The car will be available at Rs. 10.99 lakh for LT variant and Rs. 12.45 for the LTZ variant. (ex-showroom Delhi). The car comes with a five-speed manual transmission (no automatic is available yet) and safety features like anti-lock brakes (ABS) and an electronic stability program (ESP) as standard equipment.
The company has rolled out the car with a 2.0 litre diesel engine in two different variants. It claims that the car would give a mileage of 18.3 kilometre per litre, according to the Automotive Research Association of India standards.
The Cruze is currently being rolled out in many countries across the globe.

German luxury carmaker Porsche AG introduced its premier sedan Porsche Panamera in India, after its successful run with models like the 911, Boxster and Cayenne SUV.
The Panamera is Porsche’s first four-door sedan which went into production as the earlier prototypes like the 1991 Porsche 989 prototype and the 4-door 911-based prototype never went into production.
The Porsche Panamera price range begins at Rs.1,44,36,000 (ex-showroom India except New Delhi, including VAT and import duty).
The Porsche Panamera is available in three variants, viz. S, 4S and the Turbo. The Panamera S and 4S are powered by a 395bhp 4.8-litre V8 engine and the Turbo variant has 493bhp 4.8-litre V8 twin turbo engine.. It is available for delivery in three versions – the S, the 4S and the top-of-the-range Turbo.

Chevrolet Cruze, General Motors India is planning to be launch Chevrolet Cruze in C-segment in Indian car market in Festive session just before Diwali by October 12. It is expected that the price of this model came in the range of Rs 14 to 16 lacs to compete with other C-segment cars. Chevrolet Cruze is the first global vehicle that General Motors will launch. Chevrolet Cruze is developed by global designers and engineers team of General Motors India and will be manufactured at multiple locations around the world. Chevrolet Cruze is a mid-sized sedan and it is expected that it might replace Chevrolet Optra and Daewoo Lacetti globally in year 2009. General Motors India plans to launch Chevrolet Cruze with both petrol and diesel engine options in Indian market. The company official indicates that this luxurious sedan will hit the Indian road at October 12.

Mahindra-Renault this time has launched the sporty version of its Logan known as the Logan Play. The Logan Play only features cosmetic changes with no changes made to its engine. The Logan Play will be available with 1.4-litre Petrol and 1.5-litre Diesel engines variant. the petrol variant is available for Rs 5,41,850 and the diesel for Rs 6,68,649 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The new Logan Play features USB enabled music system, black coloured centre console, leather upholstery, driver information system parking sensor, red alloy wheels, body graphics, chrome muffler cutter and lip spoiler. The Logan Play will be available in black and white colour options with graphics on it.
Land Rover Freelander 2, Tata’s most-awaited sports utility vehicle Land Rover Freelander 2 launched in India.
Expected to be priced at Rs 35 lakh or less (excluding taxes) Freelander 2 is sold in the UK for half the price at 21,300 pounds (Rs 17 lakh). This is because the car attracts at least 100 per cent import duty in India.
The cheapest car from the JLR stable in India, Freelander is a compact, yet premium all-wheel drive vehicle, sold in markets such as the UK, France, Italy, Spain and China.
The other three models of JLR, the British marqueee brand, are Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery 3. Of the three, Discovery 3 is the cheapest at Rs 63 lakh! Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are priced above Rs 85 lakh. All the prices, mentioned here, are ex-showroom in metros.
